Charlene Cone
Charlene has been married to Milton Cone for forty-two years. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. Charlene has worked for over twenty-two years as a public school teacher and a speech and language pathologist; she was certified in both regular education and special education. While a majority of that time was spent working with elementary age students, Charlene has worked with pre-school through high school age students (ages three through twenty-one). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy with a minor in English and a Master of Science degree in competence in Speech and Language Pathology. Charlene retired two years ago and just recently resigned her licensure and CCC-SLP. She has also taught Sunday School, worked with youth groups, and served as a Director of Christian Education at various times during the last forty-two years. Charlene has been a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church since 1992 and has served on the TCP Preschool board for a year and a half.
Sam and Carol Stimple
Sam and Carol Stimple have been serving on the Trinity Christian Preschool Board for the past two years. Both are retired educators with a collective 80 years of teaching between them. Sam earned his Bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University, and his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Northern Arizona University. He has been a teacher and administrator in Idaho, California, and Arizona. His primary area of teaching was in grades 4, 5, & 6. He was an elementary principal in the Mayer Unified School District. Carol earned her Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and her Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. She recently retried from a 46 year career as a preschool teacher at American Lutheran School, and kindergarten through 1st grad teacher for the Prescott Unified School District. Sam & Carol enjoy being on the preschool board because of their love for children.
Everett Warnock
Everett Warnock has been a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church since 1991 and has served in a variety of capacities supporting activities for children. His is a retired local business owner and some of his volunteer activities within the community have been for the benefit of children. Everett has been on the TCP Board since the preschool’s inception.
Janet Howard
Janet Howard was a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree. Her focus in education for teaching was for grades kindergarten through 3rd. Janet was instrumental in starting a preschool at Mt. View Presbyterian in Omaha, Nebraska and was the director for 9 years; at the time of the start, Janet’s oldest son was 3. Janet also taught at a preschool at a Lutheran Church in Kearny, Nebraska, as well as setting up another preschool at First Presbyterian Church also in Kearny, Nebraska. Janet has resided in Prescott since 1985 where she is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Under the church umbrellas of Christian Education, Janet has taught the 3rd and 4th grade children. Presently, Janet volunteers her time with the children of Trinity Christian Preschool of which she is a founder and is currently on the Preschool Board.
Dr. James Howard
Dr. Jim Howard has been a teacher, coach and administrator for forty years. For 22 years, he was the Superintendent of Schools with Kearney, Nebraska, Prescott, Arizona and the Aqua Fria School District located in Avondale, Goodyear and Litchfield Park, Arizona.
He is active in the Prescott Community as the Co-Director and Founding Partner of the Trinity Christian Preschool, the Blue Grass Events Association Board of Directors, YMCA Board of Directors, past President of the Prescott Pops Symphony, and the Chairperson for the successful Bond Issue effort to establish a Joint Technology Educational District (JTED) for the students of Yavapai County.
Jim is the past President of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, recipient of the Governors Award of Appreciation, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a member of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Omaha Central High School Hall of Fame for his life accomplishments.
He is most proud of his wife Janet and his children Jamie, Joe and Jenny and loves spending time with his seven grandchildren.
Jim believes that Trinity Christian Preschool provides all children with an avenue for a happy, successful and complete educational experience.
His theme for life is C.A.R.E.: Children Are Really Everything.
